Start With Your Guest List, Not the Venue

A 400-guest Indian wedding and an 80-guest intimate destination wedding are two different logistical universes, and the location that works beautifully for one can be a real strain for the other. Before we talk venues, we talk headcount, travel budgets your guests can realistically manage, and how many of your relatives have never left the country before.

Match the Season to the Destination, Not the Other Way Around

Rajasthan in June and Kerala in June are both technically possible and both genuinely difficult on your guests. We map the destination against your preferred wedding month early, because it's far easier to shift a date by a few weeks than to force a location to work in the wrong season.

Consider What Rituals You Cannot Compromise On

If your family has specific ceremonies — a particular priest, a specific style of mandap, access to a temple for certain rites — that can rule out locations quickly. We always ask about non-negotiable rituals before we ask about aesthetics.

Once those four questions are answered, the shortlist usually narrows itself. What's left is a much shorter, much more honest conversation about which one or two places will actually work for your family — which is a far better place to start choosing a venue from.
